They are very rute to Marika on this one. A man do not live with a woman if he did not love her for 17 years. They had been together so long and he was seperated from his wife much before. They could not get married because old Turkish law was ignoring the couples application if one of them says “I do not want a divorce”. They finally changed the rules in 1988 to “if a couple lives apart more than 3 years they can get divorce”. So Tatlici finally divorced her wife and married with Marika. Only thing I do not understand in this story is why did Marika changed her name? She had a lovely name…
